The exhibition “Daphne Descends”
Text by Alexandra Mazzanti
With the eyes closed and wet feet, the cheeks caressed by young leaves, we get into light in order to take refuge in the shade, while the lips keeps the smell of silence. Is in the quiteness of dawn, at the beginning of everithing when dreams and thoughts escape in a garden made of paper and when the pages of the story fly in the wind as butterflies. The exhibition Daphne Descends takes name from the song of the Smashing Pumpkins and follows the mith of Apollo and Daphne.
Ten brand new artworks, with Iannetti’s unique style, realized in graphite, watercolor and ink on wood or paper, take us through a surreal exciting fusion with Mother Nature. The Girl becomes a Tree, the roots run under her, breaking her white skin, so crackes break out on her beautiful porcelain body as on a shell.
A metamorphosis is taking place and it is the only way to survive, to that Love made of ashes, and to give back to it another life, hiding inside a never existed memory, a Love that has to be kept in secret and silence and that becomes light and able to fly.
Now Love is sublimated, it is the eternal ghost of itself and can last forever at the center of a primary and uncontaminated universe, like in a mith, a legend or a fairytale.

Dedicated to Alessia and her drawings… by Night and Day
The drawing’s morphology seeps and seduces our eyes through the pores of paper and the veins of wood. It melts in pink and sweet mashmellows and pulsating arteries between Ovidio, Carroll and the lost daughter of Elisabeth Siddal. In Alessia’s drawings the leaves of the forest are dense and suspended between the blind beauty of the faces and the awareness of wounds sewed by flocks of multicolored hummingbirds. It is important for Time to not reveal us the end of the story and to not make us lose the dates from the calendar of dreams where Daphne’s bucolic desire escapes from the lusts of the flesh becoming real through the desire of purity and an ineffable truth as in childhood when the book of life changes inexorably … page!
